The little things that make a difference!

Let me tell you a short and sweet story today.
On a faithful day, as I was heading to a BBQ, I received a call to go pick up a friend. I agreed and headed to pick up my friend. And guess what? Since I was tired of driving, my friend agreed to take on the wheel until we reached the BBQ’s location. But something extraordinary happened on our way to the BBQ. I received a text message from the host to stop by the grocery store and get some extra drinks and water, to which I agreed hesitatingly.

But you know what? God had planned it otherwise, because our stop at the grocery store was very fruitful.

As we were about to pack the car we ran into an old acquaintance; whom we hadn’t seen in a while. We greeted each other and headed our way. Some seconds later, she comes running towards us again stating that she had locked her car keys in the car. All frustrated and sad about her action, I looked at her and immediately asked my friend to assist her (as I recalled that my friend had previously been in a similar situation and managed to unlock the car). That being said, all 3 of us headed to the grocery store to pick up the items and back to the car. After picking up the items, the car was successfully unlocked. As soon as the car door got unlocked, she stared amazed with a grateful and joyful heart. At that very instant, I exclaimed that our meeting was indeed divinely ordained. Upon hearing that declaration, she brightened up even further and gave us hugs upon hugs.

The encounter made us realize that noting happens in vein, but all things happen for a purpose and are ordained. We laughed about it and thanked the Lord for the divine encounter. Finally, we headed our separate ways and considered the day to be a fruitful one.

Feeling discouraged?

People often say that it’s tough to comfort a friend/ family in need. We can never fully feel their pain. It’s indeed what I experienced today. I didn’t know what to do, didn’t know what to say? Didn’t have the exact words. She was in pain. Her eyes were filled with tears. She almost cried.

This morning, immediately as I said good morning to a colleague, she began to tell me a story and poured out her heart about how she felt. One of her family members is in a critical health situation. I tried to question her, but uttering the words became difficult for her. The day didn’t go well. It wasn’t a great day for her. She is usually very jovial and outgoing, but today she spent it at her desk and in her ‘zone’.

I tried to comfort her, make her laugh but it still didn’t cut it. The sadness continued throughout the day.

As I observed her throughout the day, I began to realize that this life we have is very precious. Some people say that we always have a choice, but I will gladly refute that fact. For instance, she wanted to be joyful and smile but couldn’t because of the circumstance around her. She realized the importance of family. She realized the importance of proximity. She just wanted to cry and hug her family. She just wants things to be better. I told her to pray and be hopeful. When we are positive things happen.

As stated in Proverbs 18:21, Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and very often we get what we speak and pray for. I therefore urge you friends and family to always remain positive no matter the situation and always pray for change.

As I write this post, I am also praying for her uncle, who will definitely feel better and get restored.

Be blessed!

Officially 27!

I just turned 27 years old, and I am like wow the number sounds weird to my ears. I have to get used to the fact that am 3 years away from the Big 30. Ahahahaha I can’t wait, but for now let me enjoy this season. You know what though? I am grateful to be alive during this season. Its indeed a season set apart for the Lord to do His mighty works. Who knew I will be alive at such a time like this? Despite all the challenges I faced during the past 26 years, I am grateful to say that they have officially shaped me into the beautiful and strong lady that I am today.

My life took another turn before the end of my 26th year on planet earth. I got married and just like some friends said, yesterday I celebrated my first birthday as a married woman (hahahah). Several people wished me a happy birthday, and yes am glad to say that Hubby (a word that I rarely pronounce-mainly because marriage is still surreal) was the first person to wish me happy birthday. I appreciate everyone’s wishes and blessings. I smiled and indeed had a great day.

I am happy to kick-start my 27th year and continuously pray that God favors me each and every day of my life. I live for Christ, so I aim to do and be a better person. Therefore I ask of you, please don’t hesitate to correct me whenever I misbehave or side-track.

I want to be better, I want you to be better too, I want us to be better, so lets work together to make ourselves better.

I pray that we become each others keeper and seek to continuously flourish together, because there is room for everyone at the TOP.

Stay blessed and Thank you for the wishes.

27 and blessed!

Daily perceptions

It’s a new year. The month of January is almost over and we are about to jump into the second month of the year. Prior to January 31st, I carefully and patiently pondered over this month’s blog post and suddenly thought about a lived experience.

The experience am referring to is the development of resentment and hatred due to misjudgment.

Human beings need to stop preconceived judgement and hatred! As I pondered over this statement, the following questions ran through my mind:

1) How often do we judge people based on what others have said?

2) Why do we use the information gathered from external sources as basis for our judgement and perception of others?

3) How many times have we fallen short in our attitude and interaction with others due to false or negative information received?

4) How often do we back track and say no to gossip or false information?

5) Have we realized that the more we listen to what people have to say about others, the more we develop a feeling of resentment towards those people?

6) Have you made a conscious decision to stop judging others based on what you hear?

As a result, it will be better to get to know people before Judging or negatively perceiving them.

I welcome you to join me in this quest for change and transformation. By changing our associations, we change our perception of others, we change the way we interact and the way we react.

Let’s pursue this with a passion and develop love for all mankind in lieu of resentment, doubt and hatred.

Happy new month!

Oh Life!

I woke up and decided to be better.
But the tears kept making me bitter.

Several days passed and my heart began to yonder.
Friends and family members began to wonder.

I was experiencing distress.
I had become purposeless.

Afterwards I decided to change my perspective.
This change led me to become positive.

I grew to become my original.
I developed and became jovial.

The full package led me to find love.
Then I began to experience truelove.

A love that nutures the passion.
A love that fosters the vision.

Indeed LOVE is beautiful!

Have a blessed week 🙂

Memories

I woke up in the morning;
Breath fresh air;
Said a prayer;
Took my shower;
Dressed up and left.

I went about my day;
Got to work;
Took my break;
Received a call;
A dear one was gone.

Continued with work;
Made a few calls;
Alerted others;
My life had changed;
She was precious.

She was my name sake;
I remember talking to her 3 weeks earlier;
Little did we both know;
She is now in a better place;
Watching over us all.

I go through the day;
Then night comes;
I sleep and dream about life together;
What the future would have been like;
I wake up and know it was all a dream.

I wake up and I thank God;
It’s a brand new day;
I am alive;
I can breath;
I am grateful.

I am grateful for her life;
I know she will want us to keep living;
I will keep our name shining for us;
She will forever be in my heart;
I miss you.

See you soon!!

That Vision

I had a vision;
The vision was broken;
The vision has been altered;
The vision is shaking.

I had a vision;
My life’s purpose;
I see it changing;
How do I grasp it?

I had a vision;
My childhood dreams;
The dreams of becoming who I was created to be;
I will work to achieve.

I had a vision;
The discussions with my parents;
The successes and failures;
I will strive to achieve.

I had a vision;
The hope of a family;
The hope of a nation;
To make history.

That vision I will achieve!
