Officially 27!

I just turned 27 years old, and I am like wow the number sounds weird to my ears. I have to get used to the fact that am 3 years away from the Big 30. Ahahahaha I can’t wait, but for now let me enjoy this season. You know what though? I am grateful to be alive during this season. Its indeed a season set apart for the Lord to do His mighty works. Who knew I will be alive at such a time like this? Despite all the challenges I faced during the past 26 years, I am grateful to say that they have officially shaped me into the beautiful and strong lady that I am today.

My life took another turn before the end of my 26th year on planet earth. I got married and just like some friends said, yesterday I celebrated my first birthday as a married woman (hahahah). Several people wished me a happy birthday, and yes am glad to say that Hubby (a word that I rarely pronounce-mainly because marriage is still surreal) was the first person to wish me happy birthday. I appreciate everyone’s wishes and blessings. I smiled and indeed had a great day.

I am happy to kick-start my 27th year and continuously pray that God favors me each and every day of my life. I live for Christ, so I aim to do and be a better person. Therefore I ask of you, please don’t hesitate to correct me whenever I misbehave or side-track.

I want to be better, I want you to be better too, I want us to be better, so lets work together to make ourselves better.

I pray that we become each others keeper and seek to continuously flourish together, because there is room for everyone at the TOP.

Stay blessed and Thank you for the wishes.

27 and blessed!

Oppression #AtoZChallenge

How do you deal with oppression?

Very often we get oppressed by others without any valid reason, but rather due to envy, jealousy, hatred or any other factor influencing negative behavior.

Oppression occurs in different forms such as neglect, rejection, abuse etc…

Over the years, I have learned that oppression comes to destroy us, and it usually occurs when every thing seems to be working well for the person being oppressed. For instance, I was once oppressed in a work environment. I thought all was going well with my colleagues and managers, until I began experiencing oppression. A situation that was supposed to generate positive results; ended up being negative. The oppression was caused by some specific individuals.

I later on evaluated the situation and concluded that not everyone likes/loves us in today’s world. Therefore, we have to be ready to face oppression when it occurs.

All the time, people oppress us with the intention of breaking us, but often fail to understand that no situation is permanent. Oppression doesn’t last forever.

I trust in God and believe that everything works together for my good. What other people and the devil intend as harm, will end up making me stronger, wiser and better.

Given that the devil only comes to Kill, steal and destroy, I rely daily on Jesus Christ who always causes me to triumph over every situation.

One of favorite Gospel artist: Marvin Sapp’s song entitled ‘Never would have made it‘ always encourages me to know that no matter what God is with us.

Go forth and be stronger, wiser and better than before.

Hope #AtoZChallenge

I turn around and hear about wars.
I turn around and hear about pain.
I turn around and hear about sickness.
I turn around and see suffering.
I turn around and see hunger.

How often do we lend a helping hand to those in need?

Over the years, I have learned that by lending a helping hand we help restore hope to others.

By restoring hope, we display love and bring forth an increased desire to live.

We are blessed to be a blessing to others. Therefore, we ought to share what we have in order to help those in need. By helping those in need we display the love of Christ. The love of Christ is what we all need. This love needs to be shared in order for us to live better lives. The Bible tells us in Mark 12:31 “to love our neigbour as ourselves”.

Therefore, its our duty as human beings to demonstrate the love of God and restore hope, joy, love and peace in other peoples’ lives.

Be blessed!

Gifts #AtoZChallenge

Gifts are precious and beautiful, especially when they come from our love ones.

Most people love receiving gifts.
Who doesn’t love receiving gifts?
If you tell me that; I will immediately request for your friendship. Hahahah we could form our own friendship and gift exchange clan.

When comparing men and women, women love receiving gifts more than men. Don’t we all? I have always wondered the reasoning behind this passionate love for gifts.

Over the years, I have learned that We have give as much as we receive. In order for us not become eternal receivers, we should make a conscious decision to also be givers.

Wait a second, it’s not a crime to always be on the receiving end. It’s rather a sign that our personality or actions are good, and as a result cause others to give to us.

It’s always a pleasure for me to receive from others, but I derive more pleasure when I give to others.

Giving is great. Its an act of love, an act of selflessness and a display of affection and care for others. Even the Bible tells us in Acts 20:35 that “…There is greater blessing in giving than receiving”.
Our Giving could be in the form of time, energy, words, money, material possessions, etc. All that matters is the giving heart and hand.

We shouldn’t wait for special occasions to give people gifts. The giving of gifts should be a spontaneous everyday act. We give out of the kindness of our hearts and not because it’s Christmas season or someone’s birthday.

I therefore urge you to give out of the kindness of your heart and not out of obligation. Since most of us love receiving gifts, it’s only wise for us to also give to others in return.

Be blessed as you give.

The precious “Three days”

That moment when you are reflecting about your life and you come to realise that if not for the Lord you won’t be here today. Yes, I am grateful because if not for Jesus I don’t know where I would be.

Sometime life cricumstances has a ways of treating us that we fall back and decide not to trust God anymore.
When the road gets tough, what do we do? who do we turn to? who do we look up to?

I got to a point in my life sometime back where i just didn’t know what to do any longer. Do I turn left or turn right? where to go, i asked myself?

But then received a word that encouraged me to believe and look up to God. Today, I could truly tell you that my life is in Gods hands. I have surrendered because i have learned along the way that I can’t do this on my own and I don’t have to worry about the future.

By worrying or overplanning, how many days does it add to our lives?

Well, this three days (Easter) have allowed me to really sink deeper into the knowledge of Christ, espcially knowing and believing that He died for me. Jesus died so I could have life and have in abundance.

Yes, I am indeed very grateful and I will live for HIM and HIM alone.

When I think about those three precious days, all I can say is Thank you.
The three days that made a way
The three days that cleanse me
The three days that purify me

Had they known? They won’t have crucified Him. On the third day he rose again. Lets rejoice because the grave is empty.

Lord;
Thank you for healing
Thank you for prosperity
Thank you for mercy
Thank you for grace
Thank you for love
Thank you for peace
Thank you for provision

He overcame so we are overcomers, hence the joy of knowing Christ Jesus as our personal Lord and savior.

How rich are you ?

As part of the Blog like a Pro 7-day Challenge launched by Jeff Goins, I got inspired to write this post following a discussion with friends about riches.

Everyone thinks money is good, but I think the rich have more problems than the poor (instead of poor, I prefer using the term less rich).

To begin with, how do we define riches? Is it based on the material possessions, money in the bank account or an individual’s self worth?

We are all rich in one way or the other.

Once people get rich, they always aspire to be richer. Money keeps attracting money, hence the love of money. For the rich, the more they have, the more they will spend. Hence, an increase in their needs and wants. Why be rich without appropriate management skills? They will spend on useless and unnecessary things such as private jet. Who needs a private jet when there are millions of children and orphans who are dying of hunger and malnutrition?

The less rich on the other hand, tend to be contended with what they have. By being content; I mean that they are able to live a balanced life with what they have. These individuals aspire for more in order to satisfy their needs and not wants.

It’s good to note that, money isn’t equivalent to joy, happiness personal satisfaction and self worth. All these are just feelings and life experiences. We have to consciously make up our minds to not let money/the depth of our wallets determine our self-worth.

We came to this world without money and we shall depart with no money either.

Rich people’s problems revolve around increased security, increased income maximisation and improved lifestyle. It’s good to improve one’s lifestyle, but that shouldn’t be the ultimate reason why we wake up every morning.

Statistics have proven that rich people die quicker than the less rich. For instance, how many celebrities have died recently?

Some rich people think that because they are rich they have to be loved by everyone and are deserving of certain positions, titles and societal recognition. That’s a fallacy I think.

I always ask myself this question: Why be rich and unfulfilled?
Some of us are constantly chasing money, but live unfulfilled lives.

Our riches shouldn’t be in material possessions but in Christ Jesus. How well we are connected to HIM and how much we share the love of Christ. What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? Mark 8:36. Can your giving be compared to your riches?

From dust we came and unto dust we shall return, so where do your riches lie?
