The little things that make a difference!

Let me tell you a short and sweet story today.
On a faithful day, as I was heading to a BBQ, I received a call to go pick up a friend. I agreed and headed to pick up my friend. And guess what? Since I was tired of driving, my friend agreed to take on the wheel until we reached the BBQ’s location. But something extraordinary happened on our way to the BBQ. I received a text message from the host to stop by the grocery store and get some extra drinks and water, to which I agreed hesitatingly.

But you know what? God had planned it otherwise, because our stop at the grocery store was very fruitful.

As we were about to pack the car we ran into an old acquaintance; whom we hadn’t seen in a while. We greeted each other and headed our way. Some seconds later, she comes running towards us again stating that she had locked her car keys in the car. All frustrated and sad about her action, I looked at her and immediately asked my friend to assist her (as I recalled that my friend had previously been in a similar situation and managed to unlock the car). That being said, all 3 of us headed to the grocery store to pick up the items and back to the car. After picking up the items, the car was successfully unlocked. As soon as the car door got unlocked, she stared amazed with a grateful and joyful heart. At that very instant, I exclaimed that our meeting was indeed divinely ordained. Upon hearing that declaration, she brightened up even further and gave us hugs upon hugs.

The encounter made us realize that noting happens in vein, but all things happen for a purpose and are ordained. We laughed about it and thanked the Lord for the divine encounter. Finally, we headed our separate ways and considered the day to be a fruitful one.

Oppression #AtoZChallenge

How do you deal with oppression?

Very often we get oppressed by others without any valid reason, but rather due to envy, jealousy, hatred or any other factor influencing negative behavior.

Oppression occurs in different forms such as neglect, rejection, abuse etc…

Over the years, I have learned that oppression comes to destroy us, and it usually occurs when every thing seems to be working well for the person being oppressed. For instance, I was once oppressed in a work environment. I thought all was going well with my colleagues and managers, until I began experiencing oppression. A situation that was supposed to generate positive results; ended up being negative. The oppression was caused by some specific individuals.

I later on evaluated the situation and concluded that not everyone likes/loves us in today’s world. Therefore, we have to be ready to face oppression when it occurs.

All the time, people oppress us with the intention of breaking us, but often fail to understand that no situation is permanent. Oppression doesn’t last forever.

I trust in God and believe that everything works together for my good. What other people and the devil intend as harm, will end up making me stronger, wiser and better.

Given that the devil only comes to Kill, steal and destroy, I rely daily on Jesus Christ who always causes me to triumph over every situation.

One of favorite Gospel artist: Marvin Sapp’s song entitled ‘Never would have made it‘ always encourages me to know that no matter what God is with us.

Go forth and be stronger, wiser and better than before.

Nourishment #AtoZChallenge

The word nourishment represents the food or other substances necessary for growth. Therefore, what we eat, drink and feed on is crucial to our growth and existence.

When I think about my life and the nourishment I take, all I can see is progress and evolution over the years. I have learned over the years to carefully evaluate what I feed on. From physical food, emotional food to intellectual food and spiritual food.

With regards to physical food, I live on a balance diet of vegetables, protein and carbohydrates. I don’t forget he constant exercise.

My emotional nourishment comes
from all the love and joy I receive and share with all those around me.

Over the years, my intellectual
food has evolved from not only reading scholarly articles and books to reading number of novels, journals and blogs over the years. In addition, I have recently developed a new zeal for watching educational podcast and

Lastly, my most important source of strength and growth comes from
Spiritual food. My spiritual food’s reference is the Word of God (Bible), which says in Matthew 4:4 that ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord’.

A good balance from all nourishment sources will cause us as individuals to grow and live better lives.

I invite you to review your daily nourishment.

Have a great weekend,

Faithfulness #AtoZChallenge

I have been thinking recently of how faithful I am as an individual.
I asked myself the following questions:
– Am I faithful to God?
– Am I faithful to myself?
– Am I faithful to others (parents, siblings, friends) ?
– Am I faithful to my employer?
– Am faithful to my communities?

By faithfulness, i mean being true to oneself and accomplishing what we say we will do.

Sometimes we all fail to fulfill our promises, which results to unfaithfulness. That’s one of the reasons why I rarely make promises. Often times I tell people that I will be of assistance to them without necessarily promising to accomplish the task. Some of them will then say: you promise me right? I often reply and say ‘I will do my best by Gods grace’. Some of them get surprised and even upset. Lol! That being said, I have learned over the years that I can’t do things on my own. It’s not by my power. I need Gods grace to accomplish all the tasks on my plate.

The Bible says in Zachariah 4:6 It’s not by power, nor by might, but by the Spirit of God’.

You know what, God has been faithful over the years and has always helped me pull through every situation stronger than before. This is the reason why I am even writing this post and have my blog. Yes, I have developed a new passion for writing and story telling. By Gods grace, I aim to be faithful to God, myself, my blog, people in my life, my employer and my community.

If I haven’t been faithful to any one of you, please find it in your heart to forgive and release me. I am a human being just like you and we often fall.

April Fool #AtoZChallenge

This is a new month, the month of April and I am participating in the A-to-Zchallenge this year. Yes this is a motivational challenge for bloggers. You are welcomed to join me in this beautiful adventure of creative writing and story telling as we go through the entire alphabet this month. In order to cover the 26 letters of the alphabet, I will be blogging everyday of this month with the exception of sundays.

When you start behaving differently, some people begin to wonder why and ask you all sorts of questions.
Let me begin by asking you this:

What is April fool and why do people follow such a tradition?

What pleasure do we derive in tricking or fooling people on this day?

Do we know that we sin each time we do that?

It’s not to say that I am holy or that I have never participated in April fool. Yes I have, but I have gained consciousness that it’s not right. Playing April fool Isn’t right.

I did play a trick once and the outcome wasn’t quite plesant.

We aren’t called to sin any longer, because time is drawing near. The clock is ticking.

Do we know that Just by thinking of playing April fool we have already sinned in our thoughts, and what about the action? The Bible tells us in James 4: 16-17
‘But as it is, you boast [vainly] in your pretension and arrogance. All such boasting is evil. 17 So any person who knows what is right to do but does not do it, to him it is sin’.

Let’s turn away from this behavior. Rather than being deceitful, we should spread love and hug each other.

We will see how much positive change this action will bring forth. The fruits will be beautiful.

How many righteous shall Jesus find upon his return?
Who shall be lifted up with HIM to the heavenly places?

Let’s repent and depart from our sinful ways. Now is time to act and no more play games.
Jesus is ready to receive all of us, so lets fellowship in one accord.

The precious “Three days”

That moment when you are reflecting about your life and you come to realise that if not for the Lord you won’t be here today. Yes, I am grateful because if not for Jesus I don’t know where I would be.

Sometime life cricumstances has a ways of treating us that we fall back and decide not to trust God anymore.
When the road gets tough, what do we do? who do we turn to? who do we look up to?

I got to a point in my life sometime back where i just didn’t know what to do any longer. Do I turn left or turn right? where to go, i asked myself?

But then received a word that encouraged me to believe and look up to God. Today, I could truly tell you that my life is in Gods hands. I have surrendered because i have learned along the way that I can’t do this on my own and I don’t have to worry about the future.

By worrying or overplanning, how many days does it add to our lives?

Well, this three days (Easter) have allowed me to really sink deeper into the knowledge of Christ, espcially knowing and believing that He died for me. Jesus died so I could have life and have in abundance.

Yes, I am indeed very grateful and I will live for HIM and HIM alone.

When I think about those three precious days, all I can say is Thank you.
The three days that made a way
The three days that cleanse me
The three days that purify me

Had they known? They won’t have crucified Him. On the third day he rose again. Lets rejoice because the grave is empty.

Thank you for healing
Thank you for prosperity
Thank you for mercy
Thank you for grace
Thank you for love
Thank you for peace
Thank you for provision

He overcame so we are overcomers, hence the joy of knowing Christ Jesus as our personal Lord and savior.
