Family time!!

As you may know, travelling to your home country always implies spending quality time with family members, so my vacation wasn’t all about tourism and discovery.

Now that am married, the family has grown from just my extended family to my husband’s extended family. What a joy to know, love and be loved by so many people. That being said, I did my best to visit several family members on both sides. As much as I wanted to spend time with everyone, I was limited by time and people’s availabilities.

Throughout all my visits, a number of them stood out to me, mainly because of the conversations and advice I received. An example is my Husband’s grand mother/ namesake who is so eager to have my husband and I be together (my husband and I were still living separately), as well as one of my uncles who didn’t stop asking the question about when we will start enjoying married life. Now we are finally together.

God is indeed faithful. I equally enjoyed spending time with family because of the good food I ate, although some of it gave me running stomach (Lol).

It’s always fun seeing and spending time with family after a long period of time, so I am grateful to God for the opportunity everyday. I pray to spend some more quality time with them in the future.

Ebogo’s visit: The official launch of my adventure

Life has been busy lately, my apologizes for the delayed posting. However, like the saying goes, it’s better late than never, so here is the next episode of my 25 days aventure.

My holidays were officially getting started. Hahahh, the main reason being that I wanted to travel and discover the country. We visited numerous cities and places I hadn’t been to, and oh boy… it was so worth the effort, time and money.

We visited an attractive touristic site in a village called Ebogo located in the Centre region of Cameroon. From the site’s location and activities, the atmosphere, the food, the people’s hospitality to our discoveries, I am happy to say that our stay was very relaxing, enjoyable and memorable.

So what did we end up doing? Walking, chatting and connecting with one another far away from family, friends and the world. I say far away because there was no network/internet at the site. It’s all peace and tranquility from day one till the last day.

This being said, the very special
activity we did was canoeing on river Nyong, one of the largest rivers in the Centre. It was an amazing aventure, in the course of which our tour guide narrated stories about river Nyong and eventually took us on a mini hike in the forest. We discovered that the Touristic site houses several valuable national assets, such as the largest tree (The Kossipo) in Africa, also tagged as one of the oldest in the world (more than 1200 years). I couldn’t believe my eyes, but yet it seems to be true, to the extent where the tree is protected by the ministry as a valuable treasure.

To conclude, this three day touristic discovery was very refreshing to my soul, mind, body and relationship (it strengthened our bond). I entice you to visit the site whenever you get a chance.

Now stay tuned for the next episode of my 25 days adventure.

Officially out of the 5s and into the 6s!

As mentioned in my previous blog post, I hope you enjoy this special series of 10 episodes from my 25 days journey.

This day was exceptional because my Dad turned 60. We celebrated in style at his workplace. After cutting the cake, I gave him a birthday gift on behalf of all his children. You know what? The gift was something he actually wanted but was dissuaded from purchasing by his own boys. You see, my brothers are mischievous, hahaha!

Dad loved his gift and also enjoyed the celebration. It was a great honour to celebrate Dad’s birthday and witness all the good things that the Lord has done in his life. Like it’s sometimes said, 60 is the new 50. My dad is still very young and loves to live and have fun. Also during the celebrations, mum said “he just changed numbers and has moved from 5 to 6…59-60. Hence, more grace, blessing, accomplishments, battles etc. We trust God to continually fortify and strengthen him”.

After cutting the cake, popping champagne and opening his gift, we ate, drank and partied our way through the day.
To conclude, what a blessing this day was, and is forever stamped in my heart. Happy 60th bday Dad. May God continuously bless you always. We all love you!

Now stay tuned for the next episode of my 25 days adventure.

The little things that make a difference!

Let me tell you a short and sweet story today.
On a faithful day, as I was heading to a BBQ, I received a call to go pick up a friend. I agreed and headed to pick up my friend. And guess what? Since I was tired of driving, my friend agreed to take on the wheel until we reached the BBQ’s location. But something extraordinary happened on our way to the BBQ. I received a text message from the host to stop by the grocery store and get some extra drinks and water, to which I agreed hesitatingly.

But you know what? God had planned it otherwise, because our stop at the grocery store was very fruitful.

As we were about to pack the car we ran into an old acquaintance; whom we hadn’t seen in a while. We greeted each other and headed our way. Some seconds later, she comes running towards us again stating that she had locked her car keys in the car. All frustrated and sad about her action, I looked at her and immediately asked my friend to assist her (as I recalled that my friend had previously been in a similar situation and managed to unlock the car). That being said, all 3 of us headed to the grocery store to pick up the items and back to the car. After picking up the items, the car was successfully unlocked. As soon as the car door got unlocked, she stared amazed with a grateful and joyful heart. At that very instant, I exclaimed that our meeting was indeed divinely ordained. Upon hearing that declaration, she brightened up even further and gave us hugs upon hugs.

The encounter made us realize that noting happens in vein, but all things happen for a purpose and are ordained. We laughed about it and thanked the Lord for the divine encounter. Finally, we headed our separate ways and considered the day to be a fruitful one.

What conditions your time?

Time:
They say heals every wound;
They say mends every broken heart;
They say reveals true character(s);
They say tells you who your friends are;
They say makes you weep;
They say makes you happy!

They say:
With time you can move mountains;
With time you can get better;
With time you can love again;
With time you can be hopeful again;
With time you can change;
With time you can be wise!

So:
How do you use your time?
How do you share your time?
How do you let others use your time?
How do you value your time?
How do you prioritize who you give your time to?
How do you ensure that your time is maximized to your advantage?

Time brings about change and change is the only constant we have. Therefore let’s go forth and be smart users of our time.

Happy Women’s day

Today is a celebration of Women’s day, so I choose to celebrate you; women today and forever.

I applaud you for your strength;
I applaud you for your growth;
I applaud you for your childbirth;
I applaud you for your faith.

I encourage you to broaden your sight;
I encourage you to stand for your right;
I encourage you to not abandon the fight;
I encourage you to continue in this light.

Go forth and fulfill your mission;
Go forth and broaden your comprehension;
Go forth and enhance your sense of compassion;
Go forth and run with the vision.

Let’s stand together;
Let’s become tender;
Let’s lean on each other;
Let’s trust & become sisters.

May we, all women learn and decide to live fulfilled lives and not be scared to take action. We (you) need to take that leap of faith today.

Be blessed!
